Scheduled interruption of IT services for major network infrastructure upgrade
SE Information Technology will be performing a major hardware upgrade to critical network infrastructure beginning December 18, 2020 at 10:00 PM CST. A 48-hour maintenance window lasting until Sunday, December 20, 2020 at 10:00 PM CST has been reserved for this infrastructure upgrade. During this maintenance window, there will be at minimum a brief interruption to ALL on-campus IT services. Though these service interruptions are anticipated to be brief in nature, the campus community should expect that interruptions to on-campus IT services could occur at any time during the maintenance window. While on-campus users will experience brief interruptions to all IT services, off-campus users will not experience an interruption of all IT services. Off-campus users can expect NO interruption of the following services: Colleague Self-Service, WebAdvisor, SE websites, Email, and Microsoft O365 products. Blackboard users will see the same brief interruptions in service both on and off campus.
With the input of the campus community, SE Information Technology was able to identify the maintenance window mentioned above to be our least disruptive option. Minimal disruption of services to our users is always our goal when doing planned maintenance/upgrades to the network and server infrastructure. As a department, SE IT would like to express our great appreciation to the campus community for the patience and understanding you are always willing to extend during these maintenance windows. These brief, planned service interruptions allow us to avoid lengthy, unplanned service interruptions while keeping our network performing at its best.
