Southeastern ID.me Verification – Complete by September 11
Southeastern is adding identity verification to how we protect University accounts. Beginning today, Friday, September 4, each employee will confirm their identity once through ID.me, an identity verification service also used by organizations including the IRS and Social Security Administration.
Between September 4 and September 11, visit verify.se.edu and follow the steps. Type the address directly into your browser rather than clicking a link in an email.
The process takes approximately 15–20 minutes the first time and can be completed from a phone or a computer with a camera.
You will need:
- A government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license, state ID, or passport
- A phone or computer with a camera for a photo of your ID and a short selfie
- A personal email address for your ID.me account — use an address you expect to keep
- Your Southeastern email address for the University portion of the process
During the process, ID.me will ask you to consent to sharing your verified identity information with Southeastern.
Completing the process during this registration period allows you to verify your identity, set a new password, and configure your MFA options at a time that is convenient for you.
Beginning September 14, access to accounts that have not completed verification will be temporarily restricted until the process is complete. If this occurs, you will need to go to verify.se.edu to verify your identity, set a new password, and configure your MFA options before regaining access.
